Saeed Tourchi is a Civil Engineer with an emphasis in Geomechanics & Geotechnical Engineering. He received his Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Kharazmi University at Iran (Tehran) in 2013. His Master dissertation was about the thermo-mechanical constitutive model for unsaturated clays.
After his Master, he joined UPC for doctoral research on the coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical analysis of engineered barriers for high-level radioactive waste, working in Prof. Gens's research group since 2015.
His main research topics have been in the fields of thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling, numerical analysis of geotechnical problems, constitutive modeling of soils, and study of the behaviour of unsaturated soils.
