About
My research is oriented to Structural Engineering within Civil and Mechanical Engineering using analytical tools as well as computational and experimental mechanics. Buckling and dynamical problems are addressed. Linear and non-linear, deterministic and stochastic models are studies. Also, direct and inverse problems are tackled. A relevant tool is the Uncertainty Quantification considering both the randomness of the structures and the loads (wind, pedestrians). In this frame, timber structures with uncertain mechanical properties, stochastic modeling of thin coatings of metallic components and drillstrings, propagation of uncertainties in guyed masts, parameter inference in cables (guys, conductors). Another fiel of expertise is Wind Engineering. My teaching activities are related to Mechanics of Materials and Dynamics of Structures.
