About

My research interests are related to multi-scale modelling and simulation of Multiphase Flows, Uncertainty Quantification in Complex Systems, Flow and Transport Processes in Porous and Heterogeneous Materials, Non-equilibrium Flows. I have been working also in the field of turbulent multiphase and reactive flows, Large Eddy Simulations (LES), Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) and Inverse Problems.

The tools and methods I use are Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Volume and Finite Element Discretization, Interphase tracking schemes, High-Performance Computing (HPC), Upscaling techniques (homogenization and volume averaging, Monte Carlo and kinetic methods, Stochastic modelling.

I am interested in a wide range of engineering applications in different fields such as contaminant transport and Enhanced Oil Recovery (Hydrology and Petroleum Engineering), Battery modelling and combustion engines (Automotive), Microfluidics, Micro-reactors and nano-particles (Process and Chemical Engineering)
