	<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Dr. Sergio Oller</strong> is Civil Engineer and is currently <strong>Full Professor</strong> of Structural Mechanics at the Technical University of Catalonia, Spain (BarcelonaTech-UPC: http://www.upc.edu/); <strong>Senior Researcher</strong> at the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Spain (CIMNE: www.cimne.com ); <strong>Honorary Professor</strong> at National University of Salta, Argentina.</p><p>He is <strong>Doctor in Civil Engineering</strong> by te Technical University of Catalonia, Spain; and <strong>Doctor &ldquo;<em>Honoris-Causa</em>&rdquo;</strong> by the University of Salta, Argentina; he has <strong>specialized</strong> <strong>on Advanced Structural Analysis</strong> at the Rome University, Italy; and <strong>Civil Engineering</strong> by the National University of Salta, Argentina.</p><p>&nbsp;He <strong>teaches the following courses</strong> at the UPC: &ldquo;Strength of Materials and Structures&rdquo;; &ldquo;Fracture Mechanics&rdquo;; &ldquo;Composite Materials&rdquo;; and &ldquo;Structural Dynamics&rdquo;.</p><p>He was <strong>Visiting Professor</strong> at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of the National University of Tucum&aacute;n Argentina, <strong>Visiting Professor</strong> at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Salta Argentina, and <strong>Visiting Professor</strong> at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the State University of California at Berkeley USA.</p><p>His <strong>current research fields</strong> are: &ldquo;Computational Mechanics&rdquo;, &ldquo;Constitutive Models&rdquo;, &ldquo;New Structural Materials&rdquo;, &ldquo;Composites Materials&rdquo;, &ldquo;Fatigue&rdquo;, &ldquo;Biomechanics&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Dynamic of Structures&rdquo;. 	<title><![CDATA[Eduardo M. Sosa]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Eduardo M. Sosa is currently a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV,&nbsp;USA. His research interests include applied research on rapidly deployable structures for protection of underground civil infrastructure against natural disasters or man-made threats. He has been Project Coordinator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Principal Investigator of the Resilient Tunnel Plug (RTP) project sponsored by the US Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology (DHS S&amp;T) and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Dr. Sosa&rsquo;s current research work includes the development and implementation of rapidly deployable membrane structures for the protection of transportation infrastructure. His expertise includes structural design and FE simulations, material selection and testing, and experimental evaluation of prototypes at multiple scales and transition from experimental prototypes to field implementation. Dr. Sosa also conducts research on the stability of thin-walled structures with current emphasis on oil storage tanks subjected to extreme loads and resilience of critical civil infrastructure.</p>]]></description>
