	<title><![CDATA[Ignacio Aguaded]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p>Ph.D. Ignacio Aguaded is a Full Professor of Media Education and Technologies applied to Education at the University of Huelva (Spain). He has a degree in both Spanish Studies and Education and also holds a PhD. He is currently Vice-Chancellor for Technology and Quality at the University of Huelva. He is the founding President of Comunicar (a group of teachers and journalists that aims to raise the profile of media education), edits the Research Journal &laquo;Comunicar&raquo; (ISSN: 1134-3478) (indexed in Scopus-Q1 and Journal Citation Reports-Q1) and is also a regular contributor to various international publications. He has led the Research Group &laquo;Agora&raquo;, part of the Andalusia Research Plan and has conducted various research projects within the framework of Spanish and International programmes, such as Interreg III, E-learning, and INTI, all related with the area of media education. He has lectured at National and International forums, conferences and universities. Author and co-author of a long list of scientific books and papers, such as &laquo;Convivir con la televisi&oacute;n&raquo; (1999), &laquo;Tecnolog&iacute;as para la educaci&oacute;n: dise&ntilde;o, producci&oacute;n y medios para la formaci&oacute;n docente&raquo; (2003), &laquo;La Universidad y las tecnolog&iacute;as de la informaci&oacute;n y el conocimiento&raquo; (2009), etc., he has also chaired over twenty international scientific events,</p>]]></description>

	<title><![CDATA[Ignacio Romero]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p style="margin-bottom: 26px; color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12px; font-style: normal;"><span><b>Dr Ignacio Romero</b>&nbsp;obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree in the Escuela T&eacute;cnica Superior de Ingenieros ICAI (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid) in 1995.&nbsp; Funded with a Fulbright scholarship, he enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering MSc program at Stanford University. Later, he moved to the University of California at Berkeley, obtaining his PhD in 2001 in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He returned to Spain in 2001 and spent one year as visiting scholar in the Civil Engineering School of the UPM, before obtaining a &ldquo;Ram&oacute;n y Cajal&rdquo; research grant. In 2006 he moved as Assistant Professor to the Mechanical Engineering school of the UPM, promoting to Associate and Full Professor in 2007 and 2011, respectively.&nbsp;</span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 26px; color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12px; font-style: normal;"><span>His research deals with numerical methods for nonlinear mechanics of solids, fluids, and structures. More specifically, he has developed time integration methods for Hamiltonian and coupled problems, models and numerical methods for nonlinear beams and shells, improved finite elements for solid mechanics, error estimators in nonlinear dynamics and multiscale methods for material modeling. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, participated in dozens of conferences and has been invited to give seminars in European and American universities.</span></p>]]></description>

	<title><![CDATA[Ignasi de-Pouplana]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p style="font-size: 11px; font-style: normal; margin-bottom: 0.28cm; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">Ignasi de Pouplana Sard&agrave; is a Civil Engineer by the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) since 2014. He is also a Master in Structural &amp; Construction Engineering and a Ph.D. in Structural Analysis by the same university since 2015 and 2018, respectively.</span><br style="font-size: 14px;">
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">His research career started in 2012 at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) when, in the context of the Civil Engineering bachelor thesis, he worked on the implementation and validation of a new code of the Discrete Element Method (DEM). In 2014 he started working on continuum damage mechanics in the field of the Finite Element Method (FEM), and developed a new approach for the failure analysis of quasi-brittle materials by combining non-local damage models with adaptive mesh refinement techniques.</span><br style="font-size: 14px;">
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">He developed the Ph.D. with the research focused on fluid-structure interaction in porous and fractured media. Topics of major interest included: stable analysis of the fluid flux in porous media, fracture of the solid matrix driven by the fluid pressure, and adaptivity of the mesh to propagate fractures in the porous domain by using non-local damage models along with quasi-zero-thickness interface elements.</span><br style="font-size: 14px;">
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">In the last years he has participated at CIMNE in various research projects and contracts with industry applied to different engineering problems, e.g. monitoring of stresses during the construction process of concrete arch dams, optimization of drill bit geometries for Particle Impact Drilling (PID) technology, prediction of the final stress state of metallic pieces during casting processes, quantification of sand production in well completions, and prediction of NO2 concentration in urban areas, to name a few. Such an experience has been accompanied by the publication of more than 10 JCR articles and the supervision of 2 PhD theses.</span><br style="font-size: 14px;">
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">Ignasi is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering (RMEE) in UPC, participating in several courses related to structural analysis and strength of materials in the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE).</span><br style="font-size: 14px;">
<span style="font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;">His research is now focused on the extension of the interface elements formulation for different contact applications, and the generalization of the poromechanics solver presented in his PhD thesis for multiphase flows. The main objective behind such a work will be the development of a new software for the simulation of CO2 storage process.</span></p>]]></description>
